Harkless and Glynn earn All-American honors at NCAA Championships
PROVIDENCE, RI - RIT junior Josh Harkless and senior Michael Glynn III each earned All-American honors at the 2025 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, Friday and Saturday. Harkless finished third at 285 lb. and Glynn placed eighth at 149 lb..
Harkless and Glynn each earn All-American honors for the second time. Harkless was an All-American in 2023, while Glynn earned All-American honors in 2024.
Harkless, the No. 3 seed, pinned Logan Flynn (Delaware Valley) at 2:23 of his opening match. He lost to Mitch Williams (Wartburg), 2-2 in the third overtime tiebreaker (riding time) in Friday's quarterfinal. Harkless came back to beat No. 1 Michael Douglas (Wis.-La Crosse), 5-1. He beat No. 6 Mauro Pellot (Alvernia), 11-1 before an 8-2 victory over No. 5 Austin Cooley (Schreiner) 8-2 in the consolation semifinals.
Harkless beat No. 2 Rayshawn Dixon (Ferrum) 4-2 in the third-place match. After a scoreless first period, Harkless took a 1-0 lead with an escape early in the second period. Dixon tied the score at 1-1 to begin the third period, but Harkless got a takedown to earn the 4-2 win.
After a first-round bye, Glynn lost 6-5 to Brett Back (Dubuque) in his opening match. He defeated Xavier Pena (Centenary) with a 4-1 sudden victory before a 10-6 win over Elijah Cyr (Castleton). He lost 6-5 to No. 3 Colby Frost (So. Maine) in the consolation quarterfinal and suffered a 9-0 loss to Michael Conklin (TCNJ) in the seventh-place match.
RIT finished tied for 19th out of 130 Division III teams with 21 points.
