Three Tigers earn IWLCA All-Empire Region honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three members of the RIT women's lacrosse team were named to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Empire Region team. Senior Lily DePalma and sophomore Katherine Killian were first team selections and junior Morgan Nichter was a second team pick.
Killian finished second in the league with 55 ground balls averaging 3.24 per game. A First Team All-Liberty League selection, Killian finished second in the league with 110 draw controls, averaging 6.47 per contest and caused 1.35 turnovers per game. The Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year won a season-high 12 draw controls at Union and caused a season-best three turnovers four times.
DePalma led the team and was tied for fifth in the Liberty League with a career-high 72 points, averaging 4.24 points per game. The First Team All-Liberty League selection was third in the conference with 55 goals. She tallied 28 goals in Liberty League play, including a career-high six goals at Skidmore. DePalma scored five goals against St. Lawrence in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament.
Nichter finished second on the team and eighth in the Liberty League with a career-high 67 points, including 37 points in Liberty League contests. She finished sixth in the league with 53 goals, including a season-best six goals against William Smith. Nichter, a First Team All-Liberty League selection tallied three goals and an assist against St. Lawrence in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament.
All three are eligible to be named to the IWLCA All-American Team which will be announced on May 23.
RIT finished with an 11-6 record beating St. Lawrence in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament.
