Baseball place five on CSC Academic All-District Teams
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five members of the RIT baseball team were College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Baseball Team selections. Sophomore Isaac Braegelmann, senior Adam Marsh, junior Jarin Moses, junior Luc Rising and junior Charlie Slaymaker were honored.
The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. To be considered, nominees had to have achieved at least a sophomore standing and a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average while playing a prominent role on the field of competition.
Braegelman made 26 appearances including 24 starts. He finished with 21 runs scored, 19 hits and 10 RBI. The management information systems major, Braegelman was a Liberty League All-Academic selection.
Marsh appeared in 36 games. He ranked fourth on the team with a career-high 28 RBI and finished fifth on the team with 27 runs. An accounting major, Marsh was a Liberty League All-Academic selection.
Moses led RIT and ranked second in the Liberty League with a career high 10 home runs. The Third Team All-Liberty League selection, Moses ended the year ranked fourth in the conference with 43 RBIs. Defensively, Moses led the team with 89 assists and was a part of a team-high 17 double plays. A game design and development major, Moses was a Liberty League All-Academic selection.
Rising went 4-1 in nine starts this season, recording a 3.28 ERA that ranked second lowest in the conference. A Third Team All-Liberty League selection, Rising notched career-best 10 strikeouts in a win against St. John Fisher on Mar. 15. A chemical engineering major, Rising was a Liberty League All-Academic selection.
Slaymaker posted a .324 batting average, scoring 31 runs while driving in 33 runs off of 46 hits. The Third Team All-Liberty League selection ended the season with a .973 fielding percentage with 36 putouts, 71 assists, and just three errors. An accounting major, Rising was a Liberty League All-Academic selection and was a Chi Alpha Sigma inductee in 2024.
RIT finished with 22 wins.
