Baseball loses at home to Oswego, 9-5
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT baseball team fell at home in its final non-conference game of the season against Oswego, 9-5, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 2-0 in the third, the Tigers' Mikey Zacher, a sophomore, hit a solo shot over the left field fence to put RIT on the board.
- After giving up a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning, junior Charlie Slaymaker hit RIT's second home run of the game to bring the score to 4-2.
- The visiting Lakers added four additional runs before junior Kevin McNulty hit a two-run home run ball over the center field fence in the eighth inning to make the score 9-4.
- Sophomore Dewey Rautzhan drove in fellow sophomore Josh Eagle with a double to right field in the ninth.
GAME NOTES
- The home runs by Zacher and McNulty were the first of their collegiate careers.
- Slaymaker's home run was his fifth of the season and 13th of his career.
- Senior starting pitcher Jake Sempervive took the loss for the Tigers as both teams used seven pitchers.
- The loss puts the Tigers overall record at 20-11 with three games remaining in the regular season.

The Tigers visit Rochester for the first of a three-game series against the Yellowjackets on Friday (Apr. 25) at 4 p.m.
